Children’s illustrations for stories by Vasyl Sukhomlynsky
In 2013 a competition was conducted in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, in which children were invited to submit illustrations for a selection of 19 stories by the Ukrainian educator Vasyl Sukhomlynsky (1918-1970). The winning entries were used to illustrate the English language picture book A World of Beauty: Tales from Pavlysh, which can be purchased in a quality offset printed edition from The Really Good Book Shop in Australia. Print on demand editions are also available from Amazon in English, Russian and Ukrainian.
Over 2000 illustrations were submitted for the book. This web page is to showcase the winning entries, and also some of the beautiful pictures that could not be included in the book.
